February 5, 2013, Mt. Prospect, IL—Cummins Allison, the leading innovator and provider of coin and currency handling solutions, today announced Tesco has installed more than 15 Money Machine™ self-service coin counters in its UK Superstores and Metro stores, delivering quick and efficient self-service coin counting to its customers.
As part of a targeted rollout of approximately 50 units, the Cummins Allison coin counters were installed under the Coin Exchange brand, making it the largest European installation of the Money Machines since its UK launch in 2011.
The Coin Exchange coin counter provides Tesco customers with the industry’s fastest and most reliable self-service coin processor, counting 4,100 mixed coins per minute at 99.995% accuracy. With a total footprint of less than 1.22 square meters, the Coin Exchange coin counter requires little space and is especially appropriate for locations where available space is at a premium. The coin counters are easy to use and make coin handling fast and efficient. Customers simply drop coins into the machine and quickly receive their receipt which is redeemed at the customer service desk for cash or at the checkout against their shopping.
“The coin counters are a great way for our customers to exchange their pennies for pounds, ensuring their pockets and purses aren’t jangling with small coins,” says Stephen Law, Assets and Estate buyer at Tesco. “They’re fast and reliable, and are popular with our customers and colleagues alike.”
“Retail organisations are seeking partners who can match their ability to provide superior service to their customers,” comments Jim Stearns, executive vice president international operations, Cummins Allison. “As the industry leader in accurate and reliable currency and coin handling, Cummins Allison has worked with Tesco to provide a best-in-class service. Our success for more than 125 years is founded on the success of our customers who, like Tesco, significantly improve their business through the use of our technology.”
