Our history

Manufacturing the first perforators in 1887 to facilitate cancellation of checks, bonds and other financial instruments, B.F. Cummins set the pattern for our continuing focus on automation solutions.

Cummins Allison’s heritage is in creating products that revolutionize the way coin, currency, checks and tickets are handled. Early roots in finance motivated us to develop an automated check signer, endorser, check imprinting machines and check processing via remote PCs.

Cummins joined with Allison Coupon in 1973, producing coupon payment books as well as a broad array of document-control-related office machines.

The expanded capabilities we have developed over the past 125 years have impacted a multitude of cash-intensive industries, including FIs, armored carriers and gaming operations. In addition to making self-service coin counters an attractive, affordable investment for FIs and retail businesses alike, we have recently developed award-winning technology that pairs state-of-the-art document-imaging capabilities with the fastest, most accurate processing platform available in a desktop footprint. We continue to work closely with the customers and the industries we serve to refine existing and develop new technologies to fulfill their unique requirements.
